The Dragon Academy is a small co-ed, secular independent school in the historic Annex
neighbourhood of downtown Toronto
. The purpose of the school, as has been stated by the principal, Dr. Meg Fox, is to not only enrich the mandated Ontario
high school curriculum, but to provide high school students with an integrated curriculum heavily reliant on the socratic method
. It is a progressive school, following the philosophy of John Dewey. In its curriculum and teaching methods, The Dragon promotes creativity, freedom of expression, collaboration and a commitment to social justice. Course offerings are balanced across the arts, sciences and humanities. The Dragon Academy was founded in 2000 by Dr. Meg Fox, who is also its Principal, and has been in operation since September 2001.
Class hours are 8:45am – 3:30 pm.
Graduates have gone on to study in many of Canada's universities, including the University of Toronto

. A small number of graduates have chosen to attend university in the United Kingdom at both the London School of Economics
