The Forbury Hotel is a grade II listed hotel

. It is situated on the southern side of Forbury Gardens
, a public park in the town centre.
In 1980 the council moved to a new Shire Hall in Shinfield Park and subsequently it was converted into offices.
It was converted into a hotel and in 2006 opened under the name The Forbury Hotel.

History
Built in 1911 as the Shire Hall for Berkshire County Council. It accommodated staff and held committee meetings, full council meetings were held in the Assize Court next door.In 1980 the council moved to a new Shire Hall in Shinfield Park and subsequently it was converted into offices.
It was converted into a hotel and in 2006 opened under the name The Forbury Hotel.
