History

The idea of The Gamer Studio was created in early 2007 during time when the creator, Adam Thomas, was working for various other outlets such as AllHipHop

 and HipHopDX. In July 2007 he registered the name The Gamer Studio and with a group of contributors started a Typepad

 blog. After a year, Adam formed JRL iMedia as a corporate masthead for The Gamer Studio and all other subsidiarity websites. The company has since changed its name to Intelligerm.

At first, the blog worked with other websites, including the previous mentioned, in supplying articles for their various lifestyle sections. Then in 2009 the blog moved from a Typepad blog based system onto a Joomla interface. The move coincided with the change to a magazine based interface. Also, with the creation of the magazine, The Gamer Lounge, a website community forum, was introduced.

In December 2010 the site closed for major maintenance work. In March 2011 the site reopened revealing a completely redesigned website with new staff members and a new brand image.
