"Wait And See" and "Spacing" were on the Blue Light Disco EP and "Just Like Everybody Else" was featured on their single for the track "Bitter", which was taken from their album Killjoy.
"My Mind's Sedate", "The General Electric" and "Pacifier" were all used as singles. "Sport And Religion" was released to radio, and had a video made, but was not officially a single.
A bonus disc is available with later versions of The General Electric that included live tracks from the 2000 Big Day Out
festival and four music videos.
It was their first album to garner a 'Platinum' certification in New Zealand --- and then later went on to 2x Platinum, making it their best selling album to date.
This bonus disc was also released by itself as either The Channel V Tapes in Australia or The Channel Z Tapes in New Zealand
