The Goodies' first LP, composed mostly of re-recordings of songs that Bill Oddie
had originally composed as incidental music for the TV series. It was reissued one year later in May 1975, retitled "The World of the Goodies", as part of Decca's extensive World Of... series, complete with alternative cover art.
The Goodies' most commercially successful record, this LP includes their top 10 single “The Funky Gibbon”. Also known as "Goodies Almost Live".
A greatest hits compilation which featured a few previously unreleased songs alongside tracks taken from various singles.
Bill Oddie described this as “musically, the best record we ever made”. The album opens with an ambitious 12-minute rock opera in the style of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody
. The lyrical content is much less family-friendly than their previous albums, with frequent references to sex and drugs.
This was the Goodies' last full album. It featured several songs originally written by Bill Oddie for I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again
, as well as some new material.
