The Great Indian October Fest or TGIOF is festival of music, beer, and entertainment that has been held every October in Bangalore

Besides the music performances, TGIOF's other activities include a food, automotive, art and flea market events.
Though the main festival is held in Bangalore, the organizers organize some pan-India activities (for TGIOF):
In 2006, the wife and son of fashion designer Prasad Bidapa
were arrested outside the event as police tried to shut it down for running too late in the evening. They were taken into custody for verbal and physical misconduct with the police. They were kept in Judicial custody overnight.
