The Hewett School is a member of OpenOpportunity, a partnership of eight schools and City College, Norwich. It has been delivering the Creative & Media and Construction Diplomas as part of this partnership since September 2008 and is delivering the Hair and Beauty Diploma in partnership from September 2009.

It is for ages 11-18. It is situated in the south of Norwich, just north of the A146

History

The school used to comprise three schools. Lakenham Boys' and Lakenham Girls' Secondary Modern school

s (East and West Site) were built in the 1950s. In 1958, the Hewett Grammar school

 was built next to Hall Road (now the South Site). This was a selective school. In the 1970s, all three schools were combined to form a comprehensive school, when the headteacher was Walter Roy.

In May 2009 the school became the first Foundation Trust School
