The New Tragedies is an Indie-pop band from Kansas City, Missouri
.
The band was formed in 2003, by singer/songwriter Aaron Weidner, after Weidner's previous band The Paper Hearts
went on hiatus. Bev Blann, formerly a member of Tyko, joined the band in 2004 and soon married Weidner.

to name a few. Their sound is similar to Gin Blossoms
with a splash of Portishead and Mazzy Star
