In the annual Nikkei ranking of "Dream Luxury Hotels" published on January 7, 2008 http://www.nni.nikkei.co.jp, the Peninsula Tokyo placed 2nd in the readers' survey, but was ranked 14th among 33 hotels by travel writers. According to Nikkei, "The second-place The Peninsula Tokyo grabbed people's attention by opening in autumn 2007 in front of the Imperial Palace. A woman in her 30s said she picked the hotel because it is a new hotel that people talk about and because the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong was also magnificent."
