The development first opened in the mid- to late 90s with the completion of a Wal-Mart
and Sam's Club
. In 2000, a Target
store was added and the Wal-Mart store became a SuperCenter.
Between construction of Wal-Mart and Target, smaller strip plazas in The Pointe began opening up, including some hotels.
The Pointe at North Fayette is commonly miscalled "The Pointe at Robinson," due to its location near the Mall @ Robinson and the Robinson Town Centre shopping plaza.
The Barnes & Noble store at The Pointe at North Fayette has moved to a new location in the Settlers Ridge shopping center.
