called The Watersong, in 1997. He released his first CD, Simmer, in 2004, which included the single "Music Revolution". In 2005 Music Revolution was chosen for Chevrolet’s long running HHR commercial. In 2006 he released "Mega Scum 01", a DJ mix with original tracks and remixes. In 2008, he co-wrote and co-produced Cyndi Lauper
's album, Bring Ya To The Brink, (the song "High and Mighty"), which is also the first song on the CD track list. The album was nominated for a Grammy in the category "Best Dance Album"
He has also worked as Dutch, getting his first number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 2003, "My Time" which he co-wrote with vocalist Crystal Waters
.
In 2003 Houk founded Dance music label, Effin Records, with industry veteran Steve Rosen. In addition to The Scumfrog, and Dutch, Effin recording artists include Cevin Fisher, Carl Kennedy, and DJs Are Alive the first ever all-star live DJ band featuring Static Revenger

In February 2007 he launched Glam Scum, a club in the virtual reality Second Life
on his 24-hour party island “Skyros”.
In January 2008 The Scumfrog began airing a regular radio show called "Glam Scum" on Sirius Satellite Radio
's station "Area 33. (Moved to Channel 38 to become Area 38 in July 2008)". In January 2009, Glam Scum was no longer exclusive to Satellite radio, and it is currently available as a free podcast on iTunes and it is being licensed to radio stations across the world.
As a DJ, The Scumfrog has toured the globe many times over in every continent. His shows are characterized by his grand personality in the DJ booth and his unique way of connecting with any crowd no matter the size or the nationality. Samples of his DJ sets are constantly updated and downloadable for free from his website.
