. Sonically, it was a departure from their previous record, Articulate Lacerations, but still maintained the surreal sound landscapes and metaphysical and sociopolitical lyrics that the band is known for. It is a favorite among oldschool fans of Tragic Black.

The Sixx Premonitions was a small sample of the band's new sound and growth as artists, as all of the songs except for "The Black Chrysalis (Spiritual Metamorphosis)" were re-recorded and included on their label-debut The Decadent Requiem in 2006.
