The Sleepers signed a record deal with Pravda Records in Chicago and released their sophomore record Comeback Special on February 26, 2008.

In May 2009, the band announced that their lead singer, Tommy Richied, will be leaving the band. The remaining four members of The Sleepers continued on as a 4-piece under the name The South Sixteens. It was recently announced that Tommy Richied will be rejoining the band in 2011 and they will perform select shows throughout the year.
