About the school

Verdin High School was founded in 1909 by Mr John. R. Verdin and was the first comprehensive high school in Winsford. The school building began construction in 1907 and it was completed by may 1909 ready for the first year of students in September 1909 the school was refurbished in 1975 due to the falling condition of the school all students were redirected to lifrewroerdin exchange the soon to be mid Cheshire college building when repairs were complete the school continued to use the exchange building for various activities until 1989 when mid-Cheshire college bought the building from the council. Following various inadequate ofsted reports, and assaults on ofsted inspectors while at the school, the school was closed due to "appalling behavior" and "inadequate teaching standards." This brought around the new academy.
