Thennangur is a village located in Tiruvanamalai district of Tamil Nadu
. The village is the site of a uniquely designed Hindu temple

The settlement was centred around the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, which has now deteriorated. Only a pillar remains. Without a temple, the village virtually vanished.
Thennangur was given a rebirth when His Holiness Sri Haridoss Giri Swamigal, The Chief Disciple of Sri Gnananandha Giri Swamigal chose the village for the location of a new centre to study Namasankeerthanam.
