Thin Film Diode
Encyclopedia
Thin Film Diode is an active matrix technology used in manufacturing displays such as LCD panels. Thin film diode makes uses of diodes sandwiched together to regulate the voltage and current of each pixel. While thin film diode is cheaper to manufacture than TFT (Thin Film Transistor), due to TFD's on/off characteristics, it is difficult to achieve a wide color gamut and greyscale.
