Think Africa Press is a free online publication providing news analysis and commentary on a variety of African affairs.

Founded in January 2011, the organisation is headquartered in London by a multi-national staff, and engages a network of correspondents both on the ground in Africa and around the world. The organisation's website claims that it is read in 178 countries worldwide and every continent.

The "About Us" section on the site states that: "Bringing together commentary from leading African and international thinkers we make sense of rolling news by presenting the key issues in context to provide a fuller, clearer picture. We provide more in-depth analysis of the issues which are really important"

James Schneider, editor of Think Africa Press, said: “While there is no shortage of rolling news from the African continent, very little of it is properly contextualised. The depth of our focus sets us apart from other news sources, providing important and often neglected background information for outsiders, and original reporting and new viewpoints for locals and specialists, while our engagement with our readership allows us to identify gaps in conventional media reporting and fill them with unique content.”

Regular features of the site include articles, blogs, reviews of relevant recent publications and "Experts Weekly”, where major issues are debated by a panel of African and international experts. Experts have included Richard Dowden
