Rani keeps on making complains against Raju. Raju's father (Kiran Karmarkar) is infuriated by these complaints and scolds his son as good-for-nothing.
However, both families have good relationship. Rani's father (Ashok Saraf) is a police commissioner and a good friend of Raju's father.
The hatred between Raju and Rani takes an ugly turn when Rani slaps Raju during a college competition. Raju, humiliated to the core, is on revenge mood.
The story takes a turn as Rani's father is transferred to Kodai Kanal, down south. As a friendly gesture, Rajus parents go to the railway station to bid adieu. Raju also goes to railway station and surprisingly his mindset towards Rani and he exudes some friendly gestures. Rani is surprised by this change and she too undergoes a change inside her heart towards Raju.
The rest of the story deals with what happens to both of them and how. Do they end up lovers or continue to be foes for some reason or the other?

Synopsis
Raju (Arya Babbar) and Rani (Shriya Saran) are neighbors and studying in same college. You expect them to be lovers. But the director depicts them as foes. They hate each other like anything.Rani keeps on making complains against Raju. Raju's father (Kiran Karmarkar) is infuriated by these complaints and scolds his son as good-for-nothing.
