Plot
The show is based on the story of the mill workers, who have lost their job as the company (mill) has shut down. The main protagoist Uma (played by Smriti Irani) has to work hard to run her family as her father and brother have lost their job.Thus, Uma tries to motivate the people of her 'basti' to work hard to conform various roles in the running of a mall, so they can all have jobs to run their families. Besides being a hard worker, Uma goes to school to fulfill her dreams even though that is not her parent's priority.
