). Rameshchandran (Dileep
), his younger brother is attempting for medical studies and Mohanachandran is hopeful that once he becomes a doctor, his financial troubles will be reduced. Radhakrishnan (Innocent), his brother in law, a police constable by profession brings an alliance of his senior officer, a police inspector for his sister Remani, which gets almost fixed. Things go smoothly until the arrival of Devaprabha (Manju Warrier
), along with her grandfather Rama Varma to the village. The heiress of the royal family, Devaprabha forms a strong relationship with Mohanachandran. Devapriya was suffering from depression after the death of her only brother Sudev Varma and had arrived at village as part of a treatment. Mohanchandran's presence brings much changes in her and she becomes almost normal. Mohanchandran, though in the beginning considers it as a fun, slowly finds a change in his surroundings. Sujatha, his fiancee finds it intolerable and complaints to him. But he tries to pacify her. But slowly things go out of control as Devaprabha turns stubborn and possessive about Mohanachandran. One day, when he flatly refuses to accompany her also adding that she need not further come to meet or talk with her. Devaprabha again shows changes in behavior, making Ramavarma fear that her mental problems are making a come back. He asks Balarama Varma, his son to arrive soon. Balarama Varma (Murali), a rich businessman in Banglore arrives and thinks of getting her married to Mohanachandran. But Mohanachandran is unwilling for it. Balarama Varma approaches Achu Marar and Sujatha and requests them to leave Mohanachandran away so that his daughter could get a normal life. But upon knowing this Devaprabha surprises everyone by reveling that her feeling for Mohanachandran is that of her brother Sudev Varma and she could treat him only as her brother, nothing more than that. Balarama Varma happily accepts the fact and joins Mohanachandran and Sujatha.
