Timpview High School, abbreviated "THS" , is a public secondary school located in Provo, Utah
. Timpview is a 4A school and is part of the Provo City School District. The current principal is Dr. Todd Mckee.

Since its opening, Timpview High School has had five principals: John L. Matthews (1977–1979), Dolan B. Condie (1979–1985), Kay W. Laursen (1985–1990), Randall S. Merrill (1990–2001), George Bayles (2001–2011), and Todd McKee (2011–Present).
In 1977, before a packed board room, the Provo School Board voted to adapt "Plan S" as boundary alignment for the district's two high schools for the 1977-78 year, and set new boundary lines for the two junior high schools in the area. The action came as part of the monthly board meetings, attended by more than 60 patrons.
Everything south of the library was added later, including the faculty lounge in 1990.
In 2006 the school got rid of the carpets in the commons and remodeled the area.
In 2006 Timpview received a new state-of-the-art astro-turf football field, which was the first type of astro-turf in the U.S.
Timpview High School is located in a northeast suburb of Provo, which lies in a mountainous valley in central Utah. Timpview is a Region 8, 4A School. It is a part of the Provo School District and is one of the three high schools in the district. Home of Brigham Young University, Provo is the state’s third largest city of approximately 120,000 residents. Timpview includes many of the university’s faculty and staff among its supportive patrons. Timpview also shares a reciprocal partnership with BYU and Utah Valley University, which benefits all three institutions’ academic programs. Timpview High School serves approximately 1,930 students in grades 9 through 12. Timpview’s ethnic make-up is 70% Caucasian, 19% Latino, 5% Asian, and 6% from other minority groups. The average ACT score of 23.8 for Timpview students is one of the highest school averages in the state and nation. Student performance is evaluated on a 4.0 unweighted, grading scale. Timpview has been on an 8 period block schedule since 2007-08. Timpview values a comprehensive education and offers a wide range of academic, vocational, technical, family science, and fine arts courses. College concurrent-enrollment credit is offered from UVU for numerous courses taught at Timpview. Timpview also has a thriving AP Program with 16 AP classes being taught. Timpview enjoys an excellent reputation in the state for academics and extra-curricular programs. We offer more than 25 student clubs. A strong athletic program offers participation in ten competitive sports: baseball, basketball, football, golf, swimming, soccer, tennis, track, cross country, and volleyball. In the 2008-09 school year, Timpview won the “All Sports Award” for the 4A classification in Utah. They won state championships in Football and Boys Basketball in 2009-2010. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in Band, Orchestra, Choir, Drama, Dance, Lacrosse, Debate, and Ballroom Dance.

Timpview High School has been a force in Utah athletics since its establishment in 1978. In its first year of existence, the Timpview girl's tennis team won the school's first state championship along with the boy's baseball team later that year. Due to Timpview's recent athletic successes, many rivals have surfaced for the Thunderbirds. The most notable is Provo High School
, located only a few miles south of Timpview's campus. Due to their proximity to one another, many Timpview students and athletes are closely affiliated with their Provo rivals, adding to the rivalry's passion and competitiveness.
Football has become a staple of Timpview athletics as well, with seven state championships since 1986. Led by coach Louis Wong, Timpview has achieved the Utah State record for the most consecutive victories, staying undefeated since their third game in 2006 against Lone Peak; the record now stands at 36 straight victories, destroying the previous record of 29. In November 2009, they held the State title for the fourth straight year. Timpview Football was ranked 21st in the nation, based on their three-peat in the 2008 State Championship. Timpview also currently holds a 20-game winning streak over their crosstown rivals, Provo High School.
Timpview has put multiple players into the NFL over its 23-year history.
Timpview coaches have also come from professional backgrounds.
Timpview had a wrestling program for a number of years, but it was discontinued in 2006 because of insufficient funding.

The judges are faculty members and previous Mr. Timpview winners who evaluate the contestants in a similar way to traditional beauty pageants. The candidates are evaluated in three different categories: talent, video and swimsuit. The talents contestant choose to perform are diverse. Some juggle; others perform odd tricks. The second part of the competition is a video in which the candidates try to convince the judges why they would be a good choice for the Mr. Timpview title. The last judging category is the swimsuit competition, in which the boys parade around in their swimsuits, often flexing their muscles. Between rounds, the hosts (two senior boys) get the crowd involved. When they aren't telling jokes, they pass the microphone to a crowd member to share one, or turn time over to some other entertainment. After all the rounds are complete, the judges and hosts have a caucus, vote on their chosen candidates, and retire to their seats. A new Mr. Timpview is announced, and the reigning Mr. Timpview crowns and knights the new heir. The Mr. Timpview crown is passed on each year.

The Burning of the T
"The Burning of the T" ceremoniously opens the homecoming weekend every year. A tailgate party is held in the Timpview parking lot, before the homecoming football game. At that time, the metal frame, shaped like that of a block-letter T, is filled with paper, wood, and shoes, then lit on fire. Usually the student body president conducts the ceremony by organizing the T's contents and lighting the fire.Mr. Timpview

Other Timpview traditions include:- Junior Promenade - The tradition of promenading is important to the students and parents. The Prom has been held in the Utah County Courthouse rotunda in April of each year. The juniors promenade with their dates down the courthouse steps to a crowd of hundreds of family members and friends. In 2007, seats were sold to the event for $5 as a fundraiser for the Prom.
