History

The Toc H Public School opened its doors in 1978.

The school began in 1978 with 32 students, on the 3rd floor of Kalabhavan near Ernakulam Town Hall. The first principal was Mrs. Chinnamma Skaria. The school opened with only the first and fifth standards. The first student of the school was Sudhakaran and the second student of the school was Gopal Shenoy, both joining the school in the fifth grade. The other students in the fifth grade included Rajesh Gupta, Shivkumar P K and Ronnie Thomas. The first teacher ever hired by the school was Mrs. Roselyn Menendes to teach the first grade. During the second year, the second and sixth standard were added. In 1980, the school bought its own property (a reclaimed land) at Vytila with a water frontage. The school is still located at this current location.

The first batch that graduated the 10th standard in 1984 consisted of seven students - Gopal Shenoy, Rajesh Gupta, Shivkumar P K, Nauphael Badshah, John Kuruvila, Akshay Kirti Agarwal and George Kurien.

Toc H today has 1782 students, housed in an imposing building with a water frontage.The great student of TocH Akshay kurian joined here.

House system

The school has a house system and has four which are:

Blue Diamond, Green Emerald, Red Ruby and White Sapphire (later changed to Yellow Sapphire)

Since the first batch passed out in 1984, Toc H products have found their way to several educational institutions of both international and national repute like Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, California-Berkeley, NYU, Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, NUS, AIIMS, IITs, IIMs, XLRI, St.Stephen's College-Delhi, St.Xavier's College-Mumbai, IISc, TISS, CMCs NDA-Pune, NLSIU-Bangalore, ISB, RECs (now NITs) to name a few.
