He signed with Feyenoord in the summer the club had just become Dutch league champion, however during the period he was with the club, between 1999 and 2003, Feyenoord failed to win any domestic title, but 2002 was an outstanding year when they won the UEFA Cup
by beating Borussia Dortmund
in the final. Consequently they played the 2002 UEFA Super Cup
but they lost against Real Madrid

and others, helped the club reach the Champions League group stage. In Serbia, his name was spelled and pronounced Žonsa.
In 2006 he came to Austria and signed with SV Ried and was decisive in helping them to archive their greatest ever result by finishing runners-up in the 2006-07 Austrian Bundesliga. He played an impressive 58 league matches in just two seasons with Ried.
