Leonard continues to host sports programs on 3AW on weekend afternoons. Leonard's nickname is "the big man that travels by train" given to him by then radio colleague Rex Hunt
. This was due to Leonard preferring to travel to an AFL game in Sydney by rail rather than on a plane.
