The name "Top Pot" came from a vintage neon sign that was above a boarded-up Chinese restaurant called "Topspot". The co-founders bought the sign, and left it in a back yard for four years. By the time the sign was restored, the center "S" had fallen off, leaving the words "Top Pot" behind.
