In 2008, Tosin declared his interest in competing for his country of origin, Nigeria. He also returned to work with his initial coach Guy Spencer. In 2009 at the Mobil National Championships, Tosin jumped a World Championship B standard of 16.65m, and represented them at the 2009 World Championships
