After playing only 26 games in four seasons, Gaspar played his first game of the 2005 season in the preliminary final against Adelaide Football Club. Before the opening bounce of the match, Gaspar elbowed Adelaide's Ken McGregor
, conceding a 50-metre penalty and goal. He would later face the tribunal, but was found not guilty of the striking charge. Despite this slow start, West Coast won by 16 points to reach the 2005 AFL Grand Final
, in which they lost to Sydney. After playing in the Grand Final, Gasper never played AFL again after his contract was not renewed at the end of the 2006 season.
Gaspar is the youngest brother of Damien and Darren
