Tri-State Lottery refers to games offered by the lotteries of Maine
, New Hampshire
, and Vermont
. It was the first multi-jurisdictional lottery, with its first drawing on September 14, 1985. Tri-State Lottery offers four shared games.
With Maine (a Multi-State Lottery Association
member from 1990-1992) returning to MUSL in 2004, all three lotteries also offer Powerball
, run by MUSL. (Tri-State games are not part of MUSL.) The three lotteries also offer Mega Millions
, which they joined on January 31, 2010, as part of both major games' cross-sell expansion.
Megabucks became Megabucks Plus, doubling the cost of a ticket (to $2) on July 26, 2009. Megabucks Plus is played in a similar fashion as Mega Millions and Powerball; the three games each draw from two number fields.
