Tricyclopod is a three-wheeled motorized (usually electric) scooter-like vehicle, which is ridden in upright standing position and is used for personal transportation. Examples of tricyclopods include TRX scooter and Zappy 3 Pro. Tricyclopod implements the idea of safe and easy personal transportation, similar to Segway PT
. The three-wheeled vehicle stands on its own without the overhead cost of two-wheeled vehicle dynamic balancing. Simple models without a gear box do not go up on steep hills, being optimized instead for riding fast (15 mph) on flat surfaces. Typical usage of tricyclopod is for local commute on paved roads.
