History

Plans for Trillium Circle were first announced in late 2004 by its developers. A site was chosen for the property, on Holly Road south of Grand Blanc itself. At the time, the only other business operating nearby was a grocery store called Colony Market, a Spartan Stores

This grocery store was to have been replaced with a newer Colony Market, 40000 square feet (3,716.1 m²) in size, which would have been incorporated into the Trillium Circle development itself; however, Colony Market closed its store in March 2006, and its property was sold to the developers of Trillium Circle.

The property, when completed, will be a lifestyle center

Development has been slow, due mainly to struggling economy in the state of Michigan. Initially, the center was to have opened in 2006, while a leasing packet issued by CB Richard Ellis placed the date of opening in early 2007.

In May 2006, a 14-screen movie theater owned by NCG Cinemas was opened . The theater added an IMAX
