The main principles of the 'True Cinema' Movement are,
  • Cinema is not only a medium of entertainment

  • Cinema should not be called as a visual medium; but instead as a ' Audio-visual Medium '.
  • The cinema should not be restricted to as a mere story-telling medium. It should be used as a 'language'.

Also as in the words of Rajan Sarma, "True Cinema becomes complete, only when its visuals and sounds are combined evenly, equally and effectively." In other words, "True Cinema is one, which is understood only on collective access to its visual and audio." The other important initiative of the True Cinema Movement is the ' Expressive Cinema '.
