Encyclopedia
Trump Tower is designed to be a 45-story skyscraper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
, United States
, but still in the development stage in April, 2011.
Its footprint is located at 709-717 North Penn Street Philadelphia on an existing peninsula extending 700 feet (213.4 m) into the Delaware River. The tower is being developed in a partnership between Donald J. Trump and Multi Capital Group. It was designed by William Alesker (Alesker & Dundon) and was initially scheduled to be completed in 2009.
Floors 5 through 45 contain 225 residences ranging from 3 bedroom duplex homes to spacious studios. All apartments have large living rooms and master bedrooms opening onto room-sized balconies overlooking the river.
The building's 30 feet (9.1 m)-high garden-like lobby is entered from the riverfront walkway. Over 60000 square feet (5,574.2 m²) of amenity space will include a screening room, cigar lounge, wine cellar, community room, business center, world renowned spa and fitness rooms. Residents will travel from this entry by high-speed elevator and arrive at a glass-walled overlook at each guest floor, with full view of the Philadelphia skyline.
By way of a separate lobby entrance and dedicated elevator, residents and guests of the restaurant and spa will arrive at a 4th level resort which, in addition to indoor and outdoor dining on the river and a full service spa, offers residents an indoor and outdoor pool as well as whirlpools, a sundeck, a fitness center and a function room. The pool extends out to a series of terraces which cascade down to the river and which include a sculpture and flower garden, putting green, tennis court and jogging track. Below the terraced garden is concealed parking for over 370 cars and the building's service facilities.
The environmentally-friendly building will recapture the heat from the residences to condition corridors and other public spaces and collect and store rain water to irrigate its green roofs. Large south side overhangs will shade its insulated low e-glass in the summer and allow the low winter sun to enter in the winter.
