. It is held in February-March, and over the years, it has emerged as one of the biggest festivals of its kind in India.

Every year, collegiate students from various parts of the country attend this technical extravaganza, in an atmosphere which makes them learn and unlearn through an application-oriented approach. It acts as a platform for them to showcase their technological and engineering prowess and nourishes growing scientific talent. , and various engineering and science colleges from all over the country. Robotics, computing and programming events, designing, electronics and a series of workshops and lectures by eminent personalities are synonymous with the festival.

Events at Tryst : An Overview

Think : The grey matter of students is tested in bridge designing contest, designing from junk, algorithm contest, computer engineering, online programming, real life problem contest, etc.

Create : A host of events like robowars, path tracking robotics, product designing, technical poster competition, etc encourages young creators and make them create innovative technical objects.

Compete : There are several competitions like assembly-disassembly, circuit designing, sci-tech quiz, simulation and optimization contest.

Design : From digital electronics, artificial intelligence and oscilloscopes; to lifters and buildings, this is the battle of skills and innovative designing abilities.

Indulge : A series of workshops, lectures by eminent personalities, exhibitions and sci-fi movies are arranged for the participants of this festival.

Tryst 2008

Tryst ’08 was organized from 29th Feb – 2nd March, 2008. Hundreds of collegiate students from various parts of India attended it. The theme of the festival was ‘Think, Create, Compete, Design and Indulge’, its catch line being ‘Experience the Dreams’.

Tryst 2009

Tryst ’09 was organized from 28–29 March 2009. The structure and scope of Tryst was reduced dramatically in 2009. Only freshers were allowed to organize and conduct competitions, and no senior was involved in any of the administrative and other tasks. Also, external participation in the events was banned and only students of IIT Delhi itself could participate.

Various events like Aero-modeling and Open Challenge were successfully organized and conducted. With a healthy participation from IIT Delhi students, TRYST 2009, although a small affair, was a success.

Tryst 2011

One of the most prestigious platforms for thinkers, innovators and learners alike, Tryst 2011, the annual science and technology festival of IIT Delhi, is back, this time scheduled from the 25th to 28th February.The official website of the festival is http://tryst2011.com
