Captain John Tucker was a sea captain from Nantucket, Mass., who settled in Martinez and built a mansion atop the hill on Escobar Street. On October 31, 1880 Captain John Tucker died. The Home was moved here in the 1920's by City Postmaster Franklin Glass. The mansion had served as a bordello for a point in its time. The home is now located at 110 Escobar St.
