Economy

Long back Tumsar had severe drinking water crisis but later drinking water from River VainGanga was fetched to the town. In summer water is supplied to the city through the Boar-well situated in Durga Colony, Tumsar.

At one point of time the town was a big market for scented rice but now it goes on deterioration. There are about 21 Rice Mills in Tumsar. Tumsar is one of the biggest grain mandi called APMC.
