Tweedbank is a large village located south east of Galashiels
in the Scottish Borders

Tweedbank, as the name suggests, is adjacent to the River Tweed
, approximately 500 metres down river from Abbotsford House
– the historic home of Sir Walter Scott
.
It is the site of the biggest industrial estate in the region
and of Radio Borders
HQ. It is also soon to be the site of Tweedbank railway station
at the end of the Waverley Line
between the Central Borders and Edinburgh
. A large Business Park is also due to be built at Broomielees in between Melrose Roundabout and the Borders General Hospital.
Tweedbank Drive is the main thoroughfare through the village, leading from Galashiels towards Melrose, with a number of roads adjoining. Driving eastwards, on the left adjacent firstly is Abbotsferry Road. The next turn off is on the right-hand side, Weavers Linn leading to The Beeches.
This is a newly finished development built by Barrett Homes. The development overlooks Gunknowe Loch, which is actually a man-made pond.
Other roads leading from the main thoroughfare are Cotgreen Road, Honeylees Drive, Essenside Drive, Jura Drive and Craw Wood.
Within Tweedbank, besides the residential homes, there is a primary school, an all weather sports complex, a large children's all-weather play area and Gun Knowe Loch. A local shop, hairdressers and pub/restaurant are further services found adjacent to the Loch.
