The Twin City Gators were a team in the National Indoor Football League

National Indoor Football League was a professional indoor football league in the United States. For their first six years, the league had teams in markets not covered by either the Arena Football League or its developmental league, af2, however, that changed briefly with their expansion into AFL...
(NIFL). The Gators lasted less than one season in the NIFL, ceasing operations shortly after what turned out to be the final home game on April 29, 2006. While the team had folded for all practical purposes, the league paid players to travel to a pair of road games, so that their opponents would not lose home dates. The results in those games were blowout losses.
