Soegijapranata Catholic University (http://www.unika.ac.id) was founded on the August 5, 1982 as a continuation of the Atma Jaya Catholic University Semarang and the Semarang Catholic Institute of Technology.
In its early days, Soegijapranata Catholic University was located at 100 Pandanaran St. Semarang
and consisted of three faculties: the Faculties of Technology, Law and Economics. As the university grew and developed activities began to move to the Bendan Duwur campus. Since the mid 1990’s educational activities have been entirely centered on this campus.
Currently, Soegijapranata Catholic University offers 11 undergraduate programs, a diploma program and 9 master programs. The 11 undergraduate programs include Architecture

and Visual Communication Design. Taxation is offered as the diploma program.
The master programs include Management Science, Management, Environmental and Urban Planning, Law with either a concentration in Health or Advocacy, Psychology Science with a concentration in Psychology of Social Development and Education, Psychology Profession, Architectural Engineering concentrating on Architecture and Settlements, and Food Technology.

on November 25, 1896, he entered the Society of Jesus Mariendaal, Grave, the Netherlands, on September 27, 1920. Ordained as a priest on August 15, 1931, he was later appointed as archbishop of the Great Semarang on September 20, 1940 His struggles and concerns for education are a continuation of the attitude of his teacher, Father Frans Van Lith, SJ
. One of his struggles was elevating the two oldest Catholic universities, Parahyangan Catholic University

, to equal status with the state university.
Mgr. Alb. Soegijapranata was also concerned with the options for the poor, which is evident through his thinking and movements. He encouraged the formation of a socio-economic organization giving full attention to empowerment of the victims of war and to those who were simply poor.
Today, Soegijapranata Catholic University continues the spirit of Mgr. Alb. Soegijapranata’s, SJ, struggles and ideals in line with him as protector of the university.

Soegijapranata Catholic University, as a university, is an academic community that can carefully and critically help to protect human dignity and culture through research, teaching, and services to the local, national, and international community (Tridharma PT).
2. Conduct research in the development of science and technology for the enhancement of human welfare.
3. Apply these developments in science and technology research to the enhancement of human welfare through service to the community.
4. Focus attention on the socio-cultural problems in society and finding their solutions through the academic community.
5. Develop cooperative networks with educational, research and service institutions on a local, national and international scale to improve the quality of education and research.
6. Continually improve and develop the university such that it can support all efforts toward achieving excellence.
The campus is located to the west of Jatingaleh, at a distance of only ±10 km from the city center which can be reached by various types of public transportation. The facilities available for students in the area surrounding the campus enhance the study environment and support academic activities.

Campus Location
