Production

The movie was shot mostly on location in what used to be inaccessible tunnel systems underneath Berlin.

Release

The film was first released on July 24, 2011 in the Fantasia Film Fest in Montreal.
The film will be released in the UK by Anchor Bay Entertainment - under the title Urban Explorers

Reception

The film has so far been received favorably, with Robert Koehler of Variety citing "Fetscher avoids the temptation to push the situation into an exercise in torture porn -- an option he easily could have gone for -- while nevertheless ratcheting up the horror. Indeed, his one-man-band combination of direction, lensing and editing proves crucial, displaying a balance of craft and patience in building layers of suspense under a horrific setting that goes beyond any urban explorer's worst nightmare."
