Ushicon is an annual anime convention
that was held in Austin, Texas
from 2002 to 2006 and from 2011 forward. The convention is traditionally held in late January or early February. On February 10, 2006, a notice on the Ushicon website indicated that the convention was ceasing operations due to changes in anime fandom. However, Ushicon has resumed operations as an 18 & older event with a convention held February 4-6, 2011.
A successor event, Chibi Ushicon, was held January 29-31, 2010, in the Austin suburb of Round Rock, Texas
