The press made its debut in 1934. The first book of poems Tėvų žemei (Land of our Fathers) was released in 1945. Collections of poetry include Su pavasariu (In the spring, 1948), Ir skrenda daina (A Song Arises, 1952), Su tavim aš kalbu (I'm Speaking with You, 1958), and others. Other works include Žemė su puokšte gėlių (1986), a collection of poems for children, Šarkos švarkas (1974), Į svečius Liliputijon (2001).

In poetry, his themes include official optimism, peace work, the heroism of the Soviet people, the struggle for peace. Poetry is репортажный character, often with a distinct narrative storyline. Much of the poems include love lyrics (especially the collection "Ave Maria").
