Vatsis Reimeris - a Lithuania

From 1951-1956 he studied at the Moscow Maxim Gorky Literature Institute
. From 1952-1954 he was the secretary of the Writers' Union of Lithuania. In 1969-1986 he was editor in chief of the weekly newspaper of the Company with sootechestvenikami abroad «Gimtasis kraštas» («Native Land").

in the collection Prie baltojo Tadž (the white Taj, 1962) he was awarded the Jawaharlal Nehru (1968). State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR (1975). Winner of the Spring Poetry (1977). He was awarded two medals. Honorary Citizen Kuršėnai (1981).
He published a collection of essays about Lithuania Lietuva - broliška žemė (1966) and a book of impressions of a trip to United States
