VAKADU is a village on the bank of Swarnamukhi/Suvarnamukhi1 river, has a pleasant look and very much heart throbbing natural surroundings. It is associated with rich heritage and culture. VAKADU is gifted with abundant under-ground water resources as well as fertile land.



VAKADU is a mandal head quarter with well-connected road way; has a running profitable A.P.S.R.T.C/APSRTC2 bus depot and a government 20-bedded hospital. Recently a dam has been constructed over the river swarnamukhi to provide matchless access to the village (VAKADU) in any of the climatic conditions as well as to preserve the under-ground water. VAKADU is the water resource for some of the remote villages, to make this mission accomplished there is a tall and huge water tank has been installed in the village.


VAKADU is well known for its oldest temples. There are 6 old temples include Nageswara Swami Temple (Lord Siva), Sri Rama Temple,Sri Rama mandiram ,Sri Alaghanatha swami temple, Sri Nagarapamma temple and Sri Desamma temple. There is one more recently constructed one Sri ChennaKesava swami temple.



VAKADU is famous for educational institutions. Mr. Nedurumalli BalaKrishna Reddy(NBKR) is the founder of the institutions and also hails from this village.




VAKADU is well known for Agriculture(Majority of the crops would be paddy, Ground nuts and sugar cane) as well as Shrimp Culture.




The nearest railway station is Gudur Junction (code for railways is GDR);which is on Chennai - Vijayawada line.
