The district grew during the time of school consolidation in the early to mid 20th Century. Schools such as John's Branch, Lone Oak, Elm Grove, Lois, Burns City, Mountain Springs, etc. became part of the Valley View Independent School District.
Valley View Elementary consists of grades Kindergarten through 4th and includes classrooms for the Cooke County Special Education

History
A two-story brick school was built in 1902-1903, when the district was first formed. A larger school was built in 1938. The building is still in use as part of the elementary campus. It has been renovated to restore the original features of the building.The district grew during the time of school consolidation in the early to mid 20th Century. Schools such as John's Branch, Lone Oak, Elm Grove, Lois, Burns City, Mountain Springs, etc. became part of the Valley View Independent School District.
