Value City Plaza is a centrally located shopping plaza in downtown Cumberland, Maryland
, bounded to the northeast by Queen City Drive and the main CSX Transportation
line. The plaza forms the northern most entrance into the Downtown Cumberland Historic District
where a large discount department store is located. In addition, the plaza is occupied by fast food restaurants, and a large parking lot.
Value City is the central bus stop for the Allegany County Transit System
. Nearly, all bus lines in the system start and stop at the plaza.
The plaza was built in 1973. In the past, it was occupied by Gee Bee Department Stores

, J.G. McCrory's, and a community bookstore. Also, this plaza was known for flea markets that were held every Sunday. This flea market has since moved inside a building close to the first united bank in downtown.
