. It is considered to be the 2nd most important commune after Meyrin. There is a train station in Cointrin and another further on. It is about 5 minutes from Geneva Airport, 15 from the centre of Geneva.
, which is next to Lignon and down by the river, Cointrin where lies the Airport (at about 5 minutes from the village and about 15 minutes from the centre of Geneva). Les Avanchets is another block of flats right next to the shopping centre balexert. Châtelaine is also near balexert. The SIG, or the Services Industriels de Genève, have a water treatment plant on the banks of the Rhone
