Veržej is a settlement and a small municipality
in northeastern Slovenia
. It lies on the right bank of the river Mura
. Traditionally the area was part of the Lower Styria
region. The municipality is now included in the Mura statistical region
. It is known for fields of white narcisi that bloom in the area in springtime.

and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Murska Sobota. It was built in the early 18th century on the site of an older wooden church. It was renovated between 2007 and 2008 and a new chapel
