Director of Transportation
- The director of transportation at Victor central schools is Darren Everhart. He has the responsibilities of maintaining bus routing as well as being responsible for hiring and training of current and new drivers. Darren also has the responsibility of taking care of misbehavior on buses.
- The District is in need of drivers, there are more runs than drivers and this causes tight scheduling, although the Bus mechanics do fill in and help drive as they are required by their contract to have a bus driving endorsement.
Mechanics and buses
- The Victor School District employs a fleet of 76, 77 passenger Blue Bird Puller style buses, as well as 10 "short" Buses and 5, 8 passenger vans. The District runs on a 100,000 mile or 10 year rotation of buses and generally buys five new buses every year (If budget vote passes).
- Every month each bus is inspected by the New York State Department of transportation.
- The district employs 4 highly capable and educated bus mechanics one of which is Head mechanic. Each mechanic services the buses and does inspections on each bus. The biggest job so far that has been done in house has been a complete rebuild of five international 3800's diesel engines.
- The Transportation building houses 5 bays two of which are equipped with 77 passenger bus lifts and one has a small car lift for small buses as well as vans. 2 Mechanics work mostly on the 77 passenger buses and 1 works on the smaller vehicles. The fourth is responsible for hiring and book keeping as well as parts inventory and daily driver report filling.
