Quotes:
“For lack of a better analogy, One Fighting Championship is the UFC of Asia, but with a focus on the best Asian fighters,” says Cui. “I have a simple philosophy: I just want the best Asian fighters in Asia on our show. I don’t care if it’s a guy or a girl. If you’re a world champion martial artist and you want to let it all hang in the cage, then I want you. If you are the baddest fighter in your country in Asia, then I want you. If you think you’re the best MMA fighter, then I want you. One Fighting Championship is about the best Asian fighters competing on the biggest Asian stage.”
“In the next 12 months, One Fighting Championship will be in Singapore, Macau, Jakarta, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo,” Cui says, adding that shows in Thailand and the Philippines are also on the radar. “Zoofa has been very successful doing shows in all the major cities in North America and some in Europe [although they've discredited MMA as a whole]. I’m not a rocket scientist, but I’m just going to follow that roadmap, except applying it to Asian cities only.”
"the budget for the first ONE FC show is bigger than all 12 shows for Martial Combat combined! ONE Fighting Championship is the UFC of Asia."
"I just want to put on the most exciting fights in Asia, featuring the best Asian fighters. At the end of the day, if the fans love our fights, then I will be happy."
"Our core target audience is Asia. We are the UFC of Asia, featuring the best Asian fighters. We are not interested in anything else because I am Asian and I know the Asian market cold. Also, the market in Asia is enormous, 3.9 billion people. Will I put on the occasional fight that people want to see like a Baroni vs Yoshida fight under Pride FC + UFC rules? Yes of course, I will do that. But, One Fighting Championship is really about Asian fighters fighting for Asian fans."
“Asia has been the birthplace and home to martial arts for the last 5,000 years and One Fighting Championship has a vision of bringing mixed martial arts to the 3.9 billion people living in Asia.”
