Victor Suthren

Victor Suthren is a Canadian writer and historian. A native of Montreal, he was educated at Bishop's, McGill and Concordia universities before joining the Canadian Public Service in 1971. He served as Director General of the Canadian War Museum
in Ottawa from 1986 to 1998, having joined the museum in 1975, and was appointed an Honorary Captain in the Canadian Navy the year he left the museum. He has worked as an advisor to film and television productions and has voyaged extensively as a seaman in traditional "tall ships". He is the author of several works of historical non-fiction as well as two series of historical sea fiction. He lives with his wife Lindsay Suthren in Merrickville, Ontario. He is father of 3 grown children (Amy Parsons, Caedi Zaine and Scott Suthren).
