The ideology and educational process implemented by the Founder Principal, Winston Gomez, that Vidyashilp run has been recommended by the Board to other schools in the nation, almost 10 years after Vidyashilp Academy was founded.

The campus

The school is situated en route to the International Airport Road, near the Jakkur Flying Club, in Yelahanka, Bangalore North.

The school is built on an eighteen acre campus with over a hundred thousand square feet of built-up area comprising classrooms, work areas, laboratories, auditoriums, seminar halls and the dining halls.

The facilities

The campus building encompasses a 25 meter swimming pool, a volley ball court, a basketball court, a badminton court, a skating rink (Bangalore's largest), a full-size cricket field, football and hockey fields, and an indoor-sports facility for chess, yoga, badminton and music, arts and sculpture centers. It also has a newly built table tennis court.

The school has a library with 70,000 titles, and dailies, magazines and journals.

News

Extracurricular activities include quizzes, elocution and recitation, chess, sculpture, and musical events. The Academy took a large share of the awards at the 2004 Children's Chess Festival conducted by the Malleswaram Association. Vidyashilp won the under 11 girls' section. The girls were placed second in the under seven and under nine categories, and the boys were second in the under eleven, under thirteen and under fifteen competitions.
